Behind the Green Door DVD

Behind the Green door was released to rave reviews and harsh criticism in 1972. Along with a few other films released that same year, it began what is now considered the golden age of porn and was the first porn film to receive mass distribution in the United States. The movie stars the model-turned-actress Marilyn Chambers as Gloria Saunders, a good-looking but average woman who is abducted and taken to a seedy sex club where she is coerced into performing sex on stage, in front of an eager audience. Most of the sex scenes take place in an orgy-like setting within the sex club, and while Chambers never speaks in the film, she portrays her thoughts and feelings well through her actions and facial expression. With an initial budget of just $60,000, Behind the Green Door grossed over $25 Million and continues to be a popular adult film to this day.
