Hitachi Magic Wand Review

I've owned three or four slimline vibes over the years, which seems about average for a woman my age - at least among the women in my circle of friends. I've always enjoyed using vibrators and I seem to go through cycles of heavy, medium and light use. How often I feel the need or get the chance to use them depends on what's going on in my social and love life.

Since my previous experience has been limited to slimline vibrators and one non-vibrating adult toy I jumped at the opportunity to review the Hitachi Magic Wand. It has a reputation that borders on legendary and I've heard nothing but good things about it throughout the years.

The first thing I noticed about my new Magic Wand (I hesitate to call it a toy), is that it's large. The body is about a foot long and has a soft, round head that reminds me of a tennis ball - without the fuzz of course. Being the responsible reviewer that I am, I prepared myself, plugged it in and turned it on.

The Hitachi Magic Wand is controlled by a simple on/off switch. When you flip the switch one way the motor kicks into action with intense vibrations, and when you flip it the other way the intensity decreases to a lower level. This is straightforward and easy enough for me to use and understand, and I decided to start out on the lower setting. The higher setting is very strong and I wanted to get warmed up before I tried it.

When I placed the head into position I was instantly thrown into a world of fabulous sensations. The vibrations are very pleasing and the head is perfectly round and soft. I started by moving it around and it didn't take long to start to notice that wonderful, familiar tingling sensation. I sort of lost track of time, but it probably wasn't more than a minute or two before I had my first orgasm.

After enjoying the feeling and relaxing for a couple minutes I decided to try the higher setting, so I reached down and flipped the switch. My body was not at all prepared for the power. I actually yanked the vibrator away from my vagina because it was too strong. At that moment I remembered what a friend had said about using a towel to dampen the Hitachi Magic Wand's vibrations, so I grabbed a towel and gave it a try. So what can I say other than this was an amazing experience. The towel did the trick and I had another orgasm almost instantly.

Afterwards, with a grin on my face, I reflected back on the experience. My first thought was that this was without a doubt the best vibrator experience I have ever had. My body was exhausted afterwards, and the quality and intensity of my second orgasm was something that was totally unfamiliar to me. The vibrations produced by the Hitachi Magic Wand are deep and relaxing, which is quite a difference from the fevered pace of many of the other vibrators I've used in the past.

I imagine most woman would enjoy the Hitachi Magic Wand. The only drawback is that the cord could be a bit longer. There is an electric socket in my bedroom but it's a few feet from the bed and I had to stay close to the edge or it would come unplugged. This wouldn't be an issue if there was an outlet closer to my bed so I'm considering moving my bed a foot to the left to solve the problem. If you have a plug near the head of your bed you should be fine, but if the plug is all the way across the room you may need an extension cord. It's not a big deal, actually, and if I had an extension cord I'd use it without hesitation. The Hitachi Magic Wand is so wonderful that I have no problem making a few adjustments so I can continue to enjoy it.
