For many people vibrator volume is not an issue. They know that they'll have enough "alone time" to use their vibrator in peace, and interruption or discovery is not an option. For some people, however, volume is an important consideration when choosing a vibrator. Maybe there is a roommate or two to consider, or perhaps thin walls or nosey neighbors are the culprits. Whatever the case it's important to find a vibrator that matches your lifestyle as closely as possible. It would be a shame to purchase what you thought was the perfect vibrator just to find that it's too loud for your situation.

To that end, we created the Vibrator Volume Guide. We started by determining which vibrator is our quietest and which is our loudest. That accomplished, we sat down with each and every vibrator in our product line to figure out where it fit in compared to the initial two. It's worth mentioning that the volume measurements were taken with the vibrator set at the highest possible setting. For example, if we gave a vibrator a rating of "4", it earned that rating when it was turned all the way up to it's maximum vibration setting,

To give you a frame of reference for our ratings and what they all mean in the real world, the vibrators with a rating of "1" are very, very quiet. Some are so quiet that you can barely hear them a few feet away. The "2" rating is still reserved for "quiet" vibrators - they're just a bit louder than the "1's".

It's also worth mentioning that the vibrators with a rating of "4" or "5" aren't necessarily loud per se. In fact, most vibrators are reasonably quiet. The louder rankings are a comparative rating. It's all relative.

NOTE: Vibrator volume may vary depending on the age of the vibrator and batteries. A new vibrator with new batteries will be louder than the same vibrator a year from now with used batteries. All of the following vibrators were tested right out of the box with new batteries.
