Do penis pumps really work?A Visitor Asks... |
| ||
How They WorkThere seems to be a significant amount of confusion over the use of vacuum enlargement devices. Many of our visitors have have asked us if penis pumps work, how penis pumps work and why anyone would ever use one. Like most things in life there are some basic answers. Let's start by saying that penis pumps can be a relatively inexpensive way to temporarily increase the size of your penis. There are many types and styles of pumps, but there are a few basics that seem to remain constant throughout different brands and styles. A cylinder, usually clear or opaque and made from acrylic, is placed all the way over the penis. A soft material at the base of the cylinder is pressed up against the body creating an airtight seal. A hose at the top of the cylinder is connected to a hand pump or an electric pump, which removes air from the cylinder. As air is removed the penis is pulled deeper inside the cylinder. Removing the air creates a vacuum, which means the air pressure outside your body becomes less than the pressure within your body. As the vacuum increases your penis begins to grow, becoming larger as more air is removed. The effect of this vacuum on your penis is limited and temporary. Are They Safe?If you follow some commonsense guidelines, penis pumps can be safe. The first rule is to keep your pumping sessions short, say 10 minutes or less. You probably couldn't do much damage in that short amount of time without experiencing a significant amount of pain. You should also decrease the cylinder pressure gradually. A rapid decrease in pressure can lead to broken blood vessels -- something you want to avoid. This leads us to our second penis pumping rule: Never do anything with a penis pump or any other penis enlargement device that creates pain. If you experience pain while using a penis pump, stop. If the vacuum becomes uncomfortable or your penis becomes discolored, stop. Your body is the first line of defense against overzealous penis pumping. It will tell you when it's had enough...or too much. Listen to your body and your penis pumping experience will be a pleasant one. If you don't listen to your body then you're tempting fate with possible penis damage. If you're trying to increase your penis size due to a medical condition you should consult a doctor first! Some Doctors recognize penis pumps as a treatment for erection disorders, so if you're attempting to increase the size or rigidity of your penis for any medical-related issue you should do it under their supervision. Your Doctor may have advice or cautions specific to your condition, so check with them first. You should also read the caution statement that comes with most pumps. People taking certain medications or who have certain diseases should not use a vacuum device on their penis. Always check and heed the manufacturer's warnings. Will Pumping Make My Penis Bigger?Well, the short answer is yes. In the long run, the answer is no. Your penis will grow (or at least not shrink) as long as it remains inside the airtight chamber with vacuum pressure applied. As soon as you remove your penis from the vacuum, or remove the vacuum from the chamber your penis will begin the process of returning to normal. So, the question is, how long will the results last? The answer to that is that it depends. Most men notice that their penis begins to return to normal within a few hours. Some men can see results for days. The results you see will depend on two main factors: your body and how aggressively you use the pump. The results you get from inserting your penis, pumping a couple times and then removing it a minute later will be very different than if you apply the pump up to the threshold of discomfort and then maintain the vacuum for 5 minutes. Remember though, the most common cause of penis damage, whether temporary or permanent, is overly aggressive pumping. If you want to keep your larger penis a bit longer try using a cock ring. Cock rings restrict blood flow from the penis into the body, increasing the time it takes for the penis to return to its normal size. If you try this, remember rule number two...never do anything to your body that causes discomfort. How Much Bigger Can it Get?That's difficult to say. The length could grow up to two inches but gains in penis length are quickly lost when removed from the vacuum. Most of the gain is in the thickness of the penis. How much of an increase will depend on what size you start with and how you use the pump, but let's just say the gain in girth can be significant. We aren't recommending long penis pumping sessions, but the simple fact is the more time you spend in the chamber and the more vacuum you apply the bigger your penis will get. Are All Pumps Basically The Same?Sort of. Pumps and other similar penis enhancement devices all use vacuum pressure to increase the size of the penis. The differences between products is usually limited to the quality of the materials, size of the pump and the style of the air-removal device. For example, some pumps have a handle you pull to remove air. Some pumps have a trigger you activate with your finger. Still other pumps have a ball-style pump you squeeze with the palm of your hand. There is no one style that is superior to another -- it's all about how well it functions and which method you prefer. If it works and you like it then that's the pump for you. It's also worth mentioning that penis pump quality can vary between manufacturers and models. Some pumps are cheap and fall apart quickly while others are designed to last for years. The quality of a particular pump, as is the case with most products, is reflected in the price. The more expensive the better the quality. If you're serious about increasing the size of your penis with a pump it might be worthwhile to invest in one of the more expensive models. In the long run they will be a better deal for you. If you're experimenting you might want to try one of the less expensive pumps. We've found a few that work well yet are inexpensive. As always, we hope this information has helped you.
